A study carried out by researchers at the University of South Florida has revealed that rats who are placed under stress suffer from memory loss and find it difficult to learn new tasks. Such findings suggest that humans may have problems remembering new information or abilities obtained before or during stressful periods. Dr David Diamond and his colleagues found that stress can affect electrical activity in the hippocampus; an area of the brain associated with memory, such changes can make it difficult to remember information.
