Until now there has not been much guidance to help doctors make a treatment decision when dealing with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The standard treatment is high doses of chemotherapy, but that’s not always successful. Now a report in the online version of the Lancet medical journal reveals stem cell transplants helped the sickest children.
