World Congress on Anti-Aging & Aesthetic Medicine Draws 5,500+ Physicians & Scientists to Share Latest Breakthroughs in Aging Intervention:

American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) Breaks Attendance Records for Previous Biomedical Conferences

The Winter 2011 Session of the 19th Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging & Aesthetic Medicine drew 5,500+ physicians, health practitioners, scientists, and corporate leaders to a three-day educational program that outlined practicable medical protocols and biomedical technologies that to aim detect, prevent, and treat aging related disease and optimize the human aging process.

Co-sponsored by The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M; www.worldhealth.net), the world’s largest leading professional medical society dedicated to educating physicians, scientists, and members of the public on biomedical sciences, breaking technologies, and anti-aging issues, The Winter 2011 Session of the 19th Annual World Congress is the largest event of its kind in the arena of advanced preventative medicine.

Comprised of an international congregation of delegates representing 90 nations, the Annual World Congress reviewed the latest breakthroughs in medical interventions that aim to prevent and treat the diseases and disabilities associated with the biological process of aging.

Ronald Klatz, MD, DO Robert Goldman, MD, PhD, DO, FAASP
Ronald Klatz, MD, DO, opened the General Session, calling on delegates to take action to ensure the momentum of anti-aging medical movement continues, submitting that today anti-aging medicine is not just about living longer and more fulfilled and abundant lifespans – but is about survival amidst the numerous environmental challenges to health and wellness. Continuing Opening Remarks, Robert Goldman, MD, PhD, DO, FAASP, acknowledged the daunting obstacles of modern-day life-robbing health challenges, but posed them as an opportunity for the advanced and visionary physicians in attendance to share their clinical expertise that is now essential critical care medicine.
Explains Ronald Klatz, MD, DO, A4M President: “Twenty years ago – when the A4M was established in 1992 – I did not envision how far the anti-aging medical movement would succeed. Our forward-thinking physicians have pioneered numerous safe and effective, non-toxic, natural therapies ranging from vitamins to growth factors. Our ultimate goal of dramatic life extension, and the youthful prolongation of lifespan, is drawing near, thanks to stem cell research, genetic engineering, artificial organs, DNA repair technologies: any one of these biomedical technologies may deliver dramatic enhancements in extending both the human healthspan and lifespan.” Adds Robert Goldman, MD, PhD, DO, FAASP, A4M Chairman: “The A4M has been a major force in advancing the medical specialty worldwide, responsible for positioning the anti-aging clinical medical specialty as a leading innovative paradigm for healthcare in the aging nations around the world. The A4M’s co-sponsored educational programs in anti-aging/regenerative medicine have an expansive global reach: at this Winter 2011 Session of the 19th Annual World Congress, over 100 speakers, many of whom are world-renowned in their area of specialization, spoke on a broad array of topics in aging intervention.”

The Winter 2011 Session of the 19th Annual World Congress presented scientific educational programming in some of the most promising arenas of preventive medicine. With presentations sharing the newest breakthroughs in laboratory diagnostics, nutritional and hormone therapies, stem cell technology, and molecular medicine, the event offers a broad range of topics that are specifically relevant to the practice of anti-aging medicine in the clinical office setting. Many of the subjects showcased innovations with vast potential to reshape advanced preventative medicine in this next decade, namely:

Martin S. Levine, DO, MPH, FACOFP Steven Schussler
Martin S. Levine, DO, MPH, FACOFP, President of the American Osteopathic Association, oriented the audience about the Osteopathic medical profession, and the role of osteopathic in preventing injuries and treating diseases. Steven Schussler, entrepreneur, and creator of the award-winning Rainforest Café®, encouraged creativity and passion in one’s professional pursuits, lending insights into the mindset of some of the world’s great innovators.
Andrew Rosensen, MD Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH
In “Preventive Cancer Imaging,” Andrew Rosensen, MD, Director of Radiology at HeartScan of Chicago, presented data demonstrating that Screening Lung CT Scans in at-risk patients holds the potential to reduce the numbers of deaths by 20%. Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH, Director of The Fellowship in Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine, shared “A Personalized Approach to PMS/PCOS,” covering clinical protocols for diagnosis and treatment of these disorders.
Joseph Maroon, MD Mark Rosenberg, MD
Joseph Maroon, MD, Vice-Chairman of Neurological Surgery and Professor at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, presented data supporting the role of a “Restricted Ketogenic Diet as Treatment for Malignant Tumors.” Mark Rosenberg, MD, Director of The Fellowship in Integrative Cancer Therapy, discussed “Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy” and its effect in inhibiting cancer proliferation and metastases.
At the co-located Las Vegas Anti-Aging Exposition, over 400 corporate booths displayed the latest technologies from the medical and biotech market aimed at improving and/or extending the human lifespan. Industry leaders that participated at the Exposition are poised at the forefront of a global anti-aging marketplace that is projected to reach $291.9 Billion by 2015. (“A4M”) is a non-profit medical society dedicated to the advancement of technology to detect, prevent, and treat aging related disease and to promote research into methods to retard and optimize the human aging process. A4M is also dedicated to educating physicians, scientists, and members of the public on biomedical sciences, breaking technologies, and anti-aging issues. A4M believes that the disabilities associated with normal aging are caused by physiological dysfunction which in many cases are ameliorable to medical treatment, such that the human lifespan can be increased, and the quality of one’s life enhanced as one grows chronologically older. A4M seeks to disseminate information concerning innovative science and research as well as treatment modalities designed to prolong the human lifespan. Anti-Aging Medicine is based on the scientific principles of responsible medical care consistent with those of other healthcare specialties. Although A4M seeks to disseminate information on many types of medical treatments, it does not promote or endorse any specific treatment nor does it sell or endorse any commercial product.
