Leap Frogs

Frog Army is a jumping fitness program performed on a small modified trampoline which is a play on traditional trampoline aerobic exercises. This is an aerobics workout that will target the entire body that will work up a sweat, as a quick search on youtube will show, more over it really looks fun as well. Studies show that doing exercises that are fun help to maintain continued participation. Should you be looking for something different or to break a plateau, this program or something similar just might be what you’re looking for.

Frog Fitness/The Frog seems to be the one appearing despite the hefty price tag. The total body fitness system and resistance trainer all in one, being billed as the first concurrent strength and aerobic training device. After watching a few videos, this machine looks like it could be worth it, and does look fun as an added bonus. This equipment tested at the University of Tampa claims that it will work every muscle in the body, targeted individually or all at once, and matches the user to specific abilities to exercises being performed to help reach and/or exceed fitness goals. It can be used in one piece to do frog signature horizontal moves, or taken apart to perform traditional vertical exercises such as upright rows, squat front/back, curls, and more.

The system claims to provide high intensity interval training and strength training simultaneously with the theory that the body is not used to HIIT training in horizontal positions. There has been state of the art facilities opened for training and education in the rigorous workout, online support such as finding your body type to design a program to help achieve optimal fitness, and discussions on nutrition and fad diets, as well as support groups and blogs.

I’ve seen my share of equipment turn into laundry hangers and dust collectors, not saying that the same can’t happen with this one, but it does look fun while working up a sweat as a quick search will show. Anyone looking for something different or trying to break a plateau may want to give it, or a similar system a look.

According to the CDC regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health that carries a wealth of benefits. Diet and exercise play critical roles in overall health. Exercise can help prevent being overweight/obese or regain control of weight, reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, reduce risk of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, reduce risk of some cancers, strengthen bones and muscles, improve mental health and moods, improve ability to do daily activities, prevent falls, and even increase chances of living longer.

As with any exercise program be sure to check with your doctor to ensure that you can do so safely, and if you have a condition talk with your doctor to come up with a plan to match your abilities.
