Keeping Active Reduces Breast Cancer Risk

Staying active can help to reduce a women’s risk of developing breast cancer, say Canadian researchers. The study of 1,200 women revealed that postmenopausal women who remained active throughout their lives were 30% less likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer compared to those with the most sedentary lifestyles. However, the study failed to find a link between physical activity and reduced breast cancer risk in premenopausal women. In order to reduce risk women don’t need take up strenuous exercise programs as day-to-day household and occupational activities appeared to provide the most protection from the disease.
