The Canadian Health Minister Allan Rock has revealed that the Canadian government has proposed that people with terminal illnesses and chronic conditions such as severe arthritis, cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and spinal cord injury should be allowed to possess cannabis for medical purposes. The new regulations should be in place by the 31st July. Since initiating a policy allowing Canadians to apply to use the drug for medical purposes in May 1999, the government has made 222 people exempt from the law banning the cultivation, possession, and use of Cannabis.
