Baby Cough Syrup Recalled

Most illness associated with bacteria are mild and will get better on their own, but more serious and even lethal cases can occur; those with weakened immune systems, young children, and infants are at increased risk of severe forms of illness.

Kingston Pharma recalled the product DG™/Health Naturals Baby Cough Syrup + Mucus. It comes in 2 fluid ounce bottles; marked with Lot KL180157; the expiry date of 11/20 appearing on the bottom of the carton and back of the label on the bottle; and the UPC Code of 8 54954 00250 0.

Audit testing revealed the presence of Bacillus circulans in 2 in 10 bottles, and the presence of Bacillus cereus in 1 in 10 bottles of the mentioned product alerting the company for the potential of contamination who immediately to steps to recall, however no cases of illness have been reported.

While the FDA continues the investigation to find the source of contamination production of the cough syrup is suspended. The FDA strongly advises against using the affected product, either throw them away or return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
