Anti-Aging Approach Targets Cellular Enzyme

Submitting that: “A molecule that treats multiple age-related diseases would have a major impact on global health and economics,” David Sinclair, from the University of New South Wales (Australia), and colleagues have identified that a single anti-aging enzyme, SIRT1, which can be switched on naturally by calorie restriction and exercise, but can also be enhanced through activators (such as nutritional compounds, resveratrol – for example), thereby influencing the metabolic effects of sirtuin-activating compounds (STACs).
