The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has published results of its poll of 2,043 American adults and their habits with regards to use of dietary supplements. Data presented at the CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry reveals that 84% of consumers express confidence in supplements in 2009, up from 81% in 2008. About 65% of Americans now take dietary supplements, up 1% from 2008. Consumers appear to be confident in the safety, quality, and effectiveness of vitamins and other dietary supplements, thanks to improvements in manufacturing processes and quality oversight procedures.
