The day-long meeting on 16th February would deliberate on possible cooperation among the SAARC countries for tackling the problem of avian influenza which has emerged in some Asian countries.
The discussions are important in the light of WHO's assessment that bird flu could have more devastating impact than SARS.
Meanwhile, the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization has said that Asia's bird flu epidemic is still not under control, with Cambodia, China, Indonesia and Laos reporting new outbreaks of the virulent H5N1 virus.
